Jennifer Hudson’s Soul Train Awards Nominations

Season 3 Idol finalist and Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson received some good news this week – she has been nominated for two Soul Train Awards. One nomination is for Best Female R&B/Soul Artist and her other nomination is for Song of the Year for “Spotlight.”
In 2007, Jennifer won the Sammy Davis Jr. Award for Entertainer of the Year at the Soul Train Awards. This year, that award has been reserved for the late Michael Jackson, who won many Soul Train Awards throughout the years.
One year ago, Jennifer released her anticipated debut album, Jennifer Hudson. Her CD was successful on the Billboard charts and was certified Gold in the U.S. on November 18, 2008. So far, there have been 5 singles and 3 music videos from Jennifer Hudson. Her most popular single off the album, “Spotlight,” was written and produced by Ne-Yo and Stargate. The hit landed Jennifer at #24 on the Billboard Hot 100.
